Encirc, the UK vertical glass manufacturer, bottler, and logistics company has joined forces with the International Wine and Spirit Competition, to sponsor the Supermarket Wine Buying Team of the Year Award at the 2019 IWSC Awards, which will recognise the innovators in sourcing trophy-winning wines to their portfolios in an extremely promotional market.

Reg & Co’s Commercial Partnerships team have long worked with the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) to provide commercial partnership support to them in identifying and securing sponsorship from companies such as Encirc, Vivino, and Double Dutch, who collectively look to drive forward their high standards within the alcohol, wine and spirits industries.

For over 50 years, the aim of the IWSC has been to recognise, award, and celebrate excellence in wines and spirits across the world and this partnership will bring together the great and the good of the Wine and Spirit industry for an evening of networking, celebration, and award-winning wines and spirits.

Annually, IWSC award entries are received from around across the globe and from over 90 countries. The samples are evaluated in line with the class of each one, and they are treated with care and consideration in the IWSC’s London tasting premises. Each year, around 400 world-class spirits and wine experts spend approximately seven months of the year judging the entries and considering which should be selected as the best in each class. With 50 years of success behind them, the IWSC is proud to set the industry benchmark for quality.

From humble beginnings in Northern Ireland, a significant period of growth over the last number of years has seen Encirc transform from a single greenfield glass manufacturing plant in Derrylin into a business producing nearly a third of the UK’s container glass. Encirc now offers customers a full-service offering which includes glass packaging production, beverage filling, and access to Europe’s largest bonded warehouse and logistics services
from a single source.

Fiacre O’Donnell, Director of Strategic Development, is delighted about the partnership, “Encirc fills for some of the world’s leading brands, so we recognise the importance of having those benchmarks for quality, which IWSC has been delivering on for half a century.”
IWSC Chief Executive Allen Gibbons recognises the crucial part that Encirc plays within the industry, “Glass remains the primary way that people receive IWSC award-winning wines and spirits, with it providing not just a method of delivery but also of preservation and presentation. We are therefore proud to welcome Encirc as our newest supporter in our 50th year.”
