Volunteer it Yourself, a positive force that can unite communities while upskilling young people.

Reg&Co are working alongside the team at VIY (Volunteer It Yourself) to identify ways to grow their national programme through additional funding from Corporate partners.
VIY combines DIY and volunteering by challenging young people aged 14-24 who are unemployed, NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) or at risk of becoming NEET to help refurbish and improve youth clubs, grassroots sports clubs, community buildings, and facilities whilst learning earning an Entry Level City & Guilds qualification and employability skills on the job. To date VIY have completed 500+ projects and 10,000+ young people have participated and benefitted.
At the heart of the VIY model, young people are mentored by, and work alongside, professional tradespeople who share their skills. To date, more than 900 tradespeople have volunteered as VIY mentors, providing vital support to young people coming through the programme.

The improvements to sports clubs and communities has a knock-on and long-lasting legacy to the individuals who use the facilities and those who take part in the facility refurbishment/improvement projects and at Reg&Co we believe the opportunity to tell these fantastic and inspiring stories make VIY such a valuable opportunity for brands who are keen to promote skills, employability, community, legacy, and education.

VIY is very much about bringing different cross-sector partners together who can all contribute something unique, and often private sector companies can add a bit of brand appeal and mass-awareness to a community programme or social action initiative to help engage and excite audiences in a way that sometimes the public or third sector can’t.” Tim Reading, Founder of VIY

“Once you learn a trade, you’re okay. You’ll always be able to make a living.” Kayleigh Morris – a VIY volunteer
