Karen has over 25 year’s experience in sponsorship both in media (at Classic FM as Head of Sponsorship), WPP and brandmeetsbrand, which she founded in 2003. She has a wealth of experience in sponsorship strategy and acquisition across all sectors including arts, entertainment, charity, not for profit, media and sport. Her work has included: Harlequins Rugby Club, exclusive agency for three seasons, introducing lead sponsor DHL, negotiating kit deal and secondary sponsors including LV Insurance, Norton Rose Fulbright, Corney and Barrow, Samsung and Brita Water. Activating the sponsorship campaigns, managing the new business pipeline and being accountable for the clubs sponsorship revenue targets. Classic FM, responsibility for increased revenue from sponsorship 300% in under 3 years engaging brands such as BMW, Renault, Eurostar, Hong Kong Tourist Board, P&O Cruises, Douwe Egberts and Waitrose. The key to unlocking the revenues was creativity and relevance, using the station’s audience data to convince senior marketing directors of the return on investment whilst providing compelling programming and content. Engaged by CRUK to support negotiation with Hyundai and Tesco for Stand Up to Cancer and Race for Life through examining the sponsorship assets and strategy. Also worked closely with the partnership team to introduce Asos and Regis hair salons as partners for Stand up To Cancer in it’s pilot year.
Worked with StreetGames on a number of campaigns since 2015 to deliver social media and PR around their innovative Fit & Fed nationwide campaign to tackle holiday hunger across the school holidays. Ongoing support around seeking partnerships for their high profile Us Girls campaign supporting teenage girls to get involved with physical activity.
