The Design Council will partner with the 2023 Radix Big Tent Ideas York Summit and Festival in a deal brokered by Reg&Co.

The 2023 Big Tent Ideas Summit and Festival will be held in Dean’s Park, York on June 16th and 17th.

The year-round partnership will include branding and presence for the duration of the event, opportunities for the Design Council’s members to take part in panel discussions, host a webinar on the important role design must play to combat the climate crisis and a PR & Marketing campaign to support the partnership, including social media posts and newsletter inserts detailing the Design Council’s participation.

Radix Big Tent is the platform for independent, constructive, political discussion, innovative and entrepreneurial ideas, and collaborative action to renew and regenerate the UK.

The Design Council is the UK’s national strategic advisor for design. The Design Council champions the brilliant, leads on new thinking, evidences value and influences policy to create an environment for design to thrive.

The Radix Big Tent Leaders Summit is a twice-yearly invitation-only event giving a unique opportunity for national and local leaders from politics, business and civil society to share experiences, showcase successes, develop new ideas and identify strategies and practical action to deliver city-wide regeneration and renewal.

The Radix Big Tent Ideas Festival encourages debate and conversations on regeneration, net zero, the future of the media and how big data can transform our public services. Guests can enter a Dragon’s Den-style event to showcase their work and can make themselves heard at their Speakers’ Corner.

Ben Rich, Chief Executive of Radix Big Tent commented,

“The Radix Big Tent Ideas Festival is a new way of doing politics: the annual non-partisan platform for people and communities to engage with political leaders and influence public policy.

We are delighted to welcome the Design Council as a partner for our York Festival and Summit.”

Minnie Moll, CEO of the Design Council added:

“Design shapes the world and we need to re-design nearly every aspect of how we live our lives to tackle the climate emergency. We aim to galvanise and support the 1.97 million people who work in the UK’s design economy to help achieve net zero and beyond.

By partnering with the 2023 Radix Big Tent Ideas York Summit and Festival we look forward to highlighting our Design for Planet mission from grassroots to government.”
